Hi there everyone!

I'm still alive!! x_x After all this time!

But, I have some bad news. The hiatus for this blog has been turned into a closure. :( I really missed updating this blog, but the fact is, I don't have the time I used to have to dedicate to it. I still love V6 and watch Gakkou e ikou each week! So that hasn't changed. I'm just not able to keep a weekly blog anymore. Thanks to all of those who read and commented on my entries! I was glad to share the brilliance of Gakkou e ikou with other V6 fans :D

The good news is that I will soon be starting a new blog, mostly with Inonaki translations (I'll select ones that I particularly like and translate them). I'll let you know when it's up and running.

Thanks again for all the support!

It's finally here!
Johnny Depp meets Rei-chan!!
I could not WAIT to see this episode, and it lived up to all expectations!
Let's get to it~!

We start off with a flashback to the first interview Gakkou had with Johnny, which was
done by two Japanese schoolkids who did all their schooling in English and spoke it
very well. Johnny called it, and I quote, the "best interview experience I've ever had... ever!"

Inocchi tells us that Johnny said that he doesn't have much time this time around,
but if it's for Gakkou e ikou, he'll make time. :D

They introduce Rei-chan's sensei, who is in top form today too XD

Inocchi: Wait, I don't remember seeing this kind of Disney character...

We fast forward to the day of the performance - Sakamoto has replaced Inocchi.
And Sensei is very, very happy to see Leader again.
JUST LOOK AT THAT HEART MARK!

Sakamoto asks her about her clothes...
She tells them that she her clothes are a gift from a real pirate.
Riiiiiight XD

Here's Rei-chan and friends!
I love their outfits! TOO CUTE!
(According to Sensei, these were pirate gifts too.)

They head to the studio, where they first have to do a trial run for the head people
at Buena Vista International. They are really impressed and give them the A-OK :D

Rei-chan and friends practice some more on their own,
and then.. before they know it...! It's SHOWTIME!
Leader is visibly nervous XDDD
To be honest, the first time I watched this, I was totally nervous too XD

To begin, Sakamoto asks Johnny if he remembers the Gakkou e ikou interview last year.
"Yes, Baby Gorilla and Pupa!" he replies. He even remembered their names! :O

Sakamoto tells him they have something new for him this time (oh what am I saying,
you guys can all understand thanks to the interpreter, LOL)

I LOVE JOhnny's "Oh!" here XDDD

They first do a cute rendition of It's A Small World.
Johnny loves it, but soon finds out that that's not all...

Next it's Rei-chan's turn! SO. SO. CUTE.

They play the Pirates theme song (with some dancing and yelling on the side xD)
which is just amazing. I absolutely love the part where they take turns playing. Amazing!

Johnny loves it, and thanks each of the girls individually. He is SO sweet with them *_*

They ask to play one more number - Rei-chan and Makoto launch into "Sabre Dance", the
really fast classical piece they've played on the show before. I was SO glad they did this one,
because it is so impressive. I get chills everytime I hear it!

As they end their performance, though, they hold their sign upside down XD OOPS!

Johnny has nothing but awesome things to say about them - he's very impressed
and really honored that they did all of that for him.
Johnny tells them they should come to Hollywood :D

The girls present him with a gift - a fan that they made themselves (although
Johnny says that their performances are gift enough!)

They all take a picture together...

...and share a group hug ♪
Sensei says she wishes she could be a part of it, LOL! I love this sensei! XD

Next week we get to go all through it again with...
ORLANDO BLOOM!

I can't wait! I mean, just look at the way he melts at their cuteness! XDD

I don't have time to do the sumo part this time, but it didn't take up much of the
episode anyways. Let's just say poor Leader got kind of beat up D:

Gakkou e ikou! 2006.02.21 subbed clip!

Hey everyone!
I'm here to present a special project that I've finished!
An English-subbed Gakkou e ikou clip! YAY!!

Those who belong to the V6 Livejournal communities and stuff have probably
seen me post about it, but for those who havent, here you go!

Basically, in this clip Inocchi and Ken visit an award-winning high school
manga club - Inocchi gets his portrait drawn, Ken has to act out a love
scene, and then at the end they have the club members draw short manga
starring the members of V6. The results are hilarious - this is one of my
favorite Gakkou clips ever so I just had to sub it for everyone to enjoy! :DDD

Gakkou e ikou! MAX 2007.05.29

Hey everyone! Finally here with last week's episode...
and another one airs tomorrow already. Oops. XD

Today we have Inocchi and Ken-ken visiting the famous Narita High School!
And of course we all remember who goes there...

Our favorite male cheerleader friend! Everyone remembers him, right?!

They find him with the cheerleading team,
and steal him so that he can show them around >D
They point out that the team won't seem to miss him much. LOL aww..

First up, the archery club!
Does this look familiar to anyone?! It should!!

The amazing thing about this team is that they pretty much all started archery upon entering high school, and some of them are ranking top in the nation. They're STILL in high school now, people! :O

Ken and Inocchi don't do too bad themselves for beginners.
Take a look at Inocchi's miracle arrows!

They both landed the same way, LOL

Next is a trip to the orchestra club. Same deal here - most of them had never touched an instrument until they got to high school. And here they are playing like pros~!

Inocchi asks if he can play conductor :D

VERDICT: HE LOVES IT!

Next they do more active stuff which... cannot really be captured in photos. XD
But look how much farther this kid can jump than Cheerleader!
(note that they didn't actually jump at the same time)

Next, Inocchi makes Ken try one of the exercises that the hammer-throwers in training have to do:

That's right, one-legged jumping all the way across the field. x_x

Ken: .....I wanna go home... XD

Aaaand that's it for Narita High School! Amazing as always :D

Next up is THIS GUY!

Who, if you're an intense Gakkou fan, you may remember ^_~
Hiroaki Tsuchiya, a mental math champion!
They show old clips from when he and some others were on the show, battling it out seeing who could complete math problems the fastest. And these guys are FAST.

So basically, Gakkou recieved a letter from an elementary school girl who is also into mental math, and really idolizes Hiroaki and wants to meet him :]

First they talk to the girl, Aika-chan, and learn more about her.
...While her little sister runs around the house making noise ROFL

Aika shows them what she can do:
her mom sets up the screen that flashes three-digit numbers
in sequence, which Aika adds together in her head, instantaneously.
It's freakin AMAZING. :O I can't even begin to wrap my head around it!!

Her mother explains that Aika has been interested in numbers from a young age.
Cue leader: Morita, what were you interested in when you were young?

Go: BOOBS.
LOL way to go Morita XD

Anyways, V6 surprise Aika with Hiroaki, who's been waiting in another room this whole time.
First Hiroaki gets to show off his skill, which is adding up SIX digit numbers instantaneously.
Leader and Go are simply floored.

Go wonders if he doesn't have some kind of mechanism in his glasses, hahah XD

After that, they fulfill Aika's wish by setting up a match between them!
Aika-chan does problems with 3 digit numbers, while Hiroaki does them with 5 digit numbers.

Go, however, is determined to let Aika'chan win, and takes something out to distract Hiroaki:

We start off today's episode with an IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT!

Concerning Rei-chan!
It turns out that when Johnny Depp is back in Japan promoting PotC 3,
Rei-chan is going to play for him! OMG Can't WAIT! ♡
Johnny was SO great with the kids who interviewed him before on Gakkou... aww!
Can't wait to see what he thinks of the amazing Rei-chan :]

On to today's main segment: more trains!

The three leads of Tokkyu Tanaka 3go join the show today!
From left to right: Katou Rosa, Kuriyama Chiaki, and Tanaka Koki!

Today they're going on a train ride with Miyake, Nagano, two members of T4 (see last episode's summary for more info), and the train otaku manager.
OH and this guy, who is also from the show but for some reason is selling train bentos XD

"This bento here - they steam it using the steam from the SL train!"
LOL ok sure XD
Nagano sounds like he actually believes him!

They buy their bentos and head out to the platform, where they see their train pulling up!
They reserved this train especially for the show♡

Tanaka asks if he can do the "choo-choo", and they let him XD
Well, they let everyone, actually. Including Miyake, who does it loud and obnoxiously and
gets yelled at for it, LOL!

Soon they're off and riding down the tracks!
Everyone is stoked!

At one point while everyone waves normally out the window at the cameramen, Miyake and Nagano have to WAVE THEIR ARMS WILDLY

They soon learn something important: the train they're riding being a steam engine and all, when the train passes through tunnels you're supposed to close the windows so that the steam doesn't come in.

BUT, the first tunnel kind of sneaks up on them, leading to....

LOL. Everyone laughs at him :D

Not long after, the train conductor tells them that they can see the Tanuki Forest to their left - they look out to see a bunch of Tanuki statues along with.... huh?!

Neko Hiroshi?!
A neko in the tanuki forest?! XD
Poor Hiroshi. Called all the way out to Shizuoka just to go nya~ at them on the side of the road?!

They go on...

...need I explain what happened this time? XD
However, a little box in the corner of the screen explained that one's face doesn't actually turn black from train smoke. Tanaka probably just rubbed it all over his face XD
His reaction upon looking into the mirror did seem genuine, though.

After about an hour they reach their destination, where they get off the train and break off into two groups: the Coal Group and the Foot Bath Group.
The Coal Group gets to shove coal into the train furnace, while the
foot bath group just gets to chill and relax:

They try to have a conversation, but end up getting oh-so-rudely interrupted:

ROFL!

They board the train again and get ready to head back home - and on the
way back they bust out the bentos! Look at this fancy one Tanaka chose:

EVERYONE ENJOYS.
And that's the end of their train trip! Everyone agrees that it was buckets of fun.

It's composed of a crazy number of twins and even a set of triplets! (pictured)
Cuuuute~

③ Private Report

A student aiming to be a NHK announcer takes the opportunity to interview his father, who works at the school. Apparently the father doesn't know about the interview, since his reponses mostly consist of "wh-what the heck are you doing?!" and "what's gotten into you?!" LOL. XD

④Digging for bamboo shoots

The last report is about a favorite pasttime of this particular school:
digging for bamboo shoots! I mean look at those things!
What's also crazy about this school is that there are a mere
seven - count 'em, seven - students.

Heeeey everyone!
Hope you guys are ready for an awesome episode! :DDD

This week starts off with.... more Rei-chan and friends, can you believe it?!
These little electron divas are just getting more and more popular, so the episode starts off with their performances from last week, in full! No edits!
At the end, they say that next week they have an important announcement concerning the girls! :O What could it be?! The good thing is it doesn't look like they're going anywhere soon! ♡

Anyways, on to today's school visit!
Inocchi and Go visit a prestigious all-girls school - Mukogawa High School - known affectionately around Osaka as the "princess school"... aka rich girls school. XD

Inocchi's has a little sign with the first six syllables of the school's name: mu-ko-ga-wa-jo-shi, and he's made a list of great things about the school using these syllables as the first letter!
I'll number them one by one!
①Moody (!?) angels sing you a love song!
Err, moody? XD Anyways, he's talking about the chorus club!
They travel around the world doing performances, always singing songs in the language of the country they're visiting! They sing a song for V6...
And Go cries. Or pretends to. I dunno.

②Students who have famous ancestors!
Yes, some students are the descendents of famous historical figures!
One girl is related to a famous figure named Rokkaku, so Inocchi asks her if her last name is Rokkaku. She says no, actually her name is...
MATSUURA AYA. XDD
Inocchi: Ayaya?!?

③Scientific researchers you wouldn't even think were students!
Yes, this school has an amazing science classes, where they study it intensely - and in ENGLISH!
Inocchi and Go look on curiously. In lab coats.♡
The science sensei decides to show them some amazing experiments, including putting things into a beaker filled with freeeezing liquid nitrogen. (-196℃!!!!)

First, they dip a rose into it, and have Morita feel it. He barely touches it and it crumbles, causing him to jump back and grab onto Ino XD
You'd think it bit him or something, LOL.
The tennis ball they try next shatters as it's dropped onto the ground.
And the balloon...?
Inocchi and Go wait for the worst:
It doesn't pop, though - it shrivels up as it's placed in the nitrogen, and returns to its normal shape once taken out! :O すごーい！

Lastly, Go pretends to make a paper catch on fire through willpower... and, while his willpower had nothing to do with it, it DOES burst into flames. ROFL.
Commence more freaking out XDD

④Our dream is to win the Competition!
This is the dream of the school's broadcasting club!
V6 check out their rockin' studio.
There, Inocchi gets an idea - they should participate in their lunchtime video broadcast! And be DJs!! XD
The girls go NUTS when they see that the special guest stars are NOT a joke XD

DJ INO!!!!!!! XD LOVE.
They play a request from "Morita Go from Saitama prefecture": Onyanko Club's
"Sailor fuku wo nugasanaide"
Note: Gakkou regular Marina is an ex-Onyanko Club member, LOL XD Just look at her reaction! At the end of the broadcast, the students clap wildly and one girl shouts out: "Marry me Inocchi!" XD
HEY THAT'S MY LINE *cough*

⑤ refers to the school's awesome baton-twirling club. Cue performance. :D
No V6 attempts this time though. Damn.

And lastly! ⑥We end with calligraphy!
They go and visit the calligraphy club, who does some amazing stuff:

This is the character for dream, ゆめ（夢）. かっこいいー！

This time, V6 gets to try it out :D
Go is convinced that his piece is "awesome" XDDD
And it's actually cute good!

Inocchi's... is....
LOL?!

Then, they get to try out GIANT CALLIGRAPHY!
I've actually done this before! :D
Inocchi draws the character for inochi - "life!"

Go writes...
his name, in romaji. XD
He points to the middle: "This line here is right around the summer I turned 17... and then it curves up like this as I head towards my 20s" XD
Inocchi: "And then from there it gets really thin, are you doing all right?!"
LOL!!!

At the end, they all do a group effort, writing out the name of the segment:
名門校へ行こう！(Let's go to a prestigious school!)
Which wraps up this school visit!

Next, something totally new -- a segment about TRAINS!

In particular... TRAIN OTAKU!
Leader and Ken are here to meet a group of otaku who love trains!

who call themselves:
T4. You know, kind of like F4? Hana yori dango?
Hence the Arashi theme song playing in the background, heh.

Kaho-chan even tags along this time, and they have a little geek-out fest with T4
explaining the ins and outs of otaku train fandom. Like, did you know that there are differents KINDS of train otaku?! Yup, you have your train-riding otaku, train picture-taking otaku, train figure-collecting otaku, otaku who love train sounds, etc etc.

However, they all admit to having the same problem: girls.
Girls don't have a very positive image of otaku, and train otaku are no different.
So here, they have an idea: let's make a commercial that will get girls into trains too!
They base it off a pre-exisiting JR commercial from the 80s, and use Kaho and Ken as the stars☆

IT IS AWESOME! (yeah I'm really descriptive, I know XD)
Scenario:
Ken runs frantically through the station to meet Kaho-chan, who's not happy with him...
...so he tries to impress her with his moves, LOL!
This is a must see! XDDD

Kaho-chan seems to forgive him and everything is right with the world.
And here we see Leader as the station attendant, AHHHH ♡ CUTE!

Next week - more trains as the cast of the currently running drama Tokkyu Tanaka No. 5 join Gakkou e ikou! This segment was just to get us warmed up, y'see~

HI EVERYONE!
Time for another episode of Gakkou e ikou~~~☆

This week V6 decides to go visit.... Rei-chan from last week again! XD
Wellll that was quick!

I guess Sensei sent them another letter with Rei-chan asking them to "please come again♡":
omg that sensei is just probably using cute lil' Rei-chan so she can see Leader again ROFL

Anyways, this time it's Leader and Miyake who are off to see them!
First though, they must meet up with that wonderful Sensei.....
....who is busy feeding the monkeys. LOL.
How embarrassing! She says.
But wait - waving "goodbye to Mr. Monkey" on their way out is not?!
XD
They reach the classroom, and they're treated to another cute performance by the little kiddies!
This time they're doing some ribon twirling, but...
UH-OH.
This is the same little girl who was kicking her feet so hard her
sheet fell off last time, as they show you here. LOLOLOL.

They switch costumes (with their mommies' help again!) and circle around V6♡
...Except for Rei-chan, who's kind of lost and doing her own thing. XD
The dance ends, and one of the kids calls out "Miyake-san! How did you like it!?"
as he runs up and grabs Leader's arm.
Leader goes into shock, while Ken just stands there laughing while all of the kids cling to him.
I swear, KIDS LOVE KEN!
Poor Leader XDDD

Next, Sensei introduces a 16-year-old student who has been playing electone since the age of 2 and is subsequently amazing :0 She plays "Hyokkori Hyoutanjima" for them (no V6 song? XD)

Next, it's Rei-chan's turn!
"I'll do my best!"
かわいい♡

Rei-chan and Makoto-chan team up for a dramatic (?) duet of "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star"...
....which puts Leader into a fit of giggles:
Ken: ...you okay there?
Their next song is a rendition of 剣の舞, or "Sabre Dance", a classical piece by Aram Khachaturian - it's one of those songs anybody would recognize if they heard it XD
It was quite amazing! I loved it!

After that, it's time to say goodbye once again~
Sakamoto decides to ask Rei-chan what she wants to be when she grows up.
"A flower shop lady!" she replies.
Sensei chimes in: "Before you said you wanted to win a music competition though, right? Right? Here, let's try that question again~"
Leader asks her a second time, and... her answer is the same. Toooo funny!

At the end of this segment, they had an announcement saying they're looking for other amazing kid performers! What's that?? More V6+kids?! YESSSSS :DD

Next up, the same Leader+Miyake combo visit a super school in Kyoto!
So super, in fact, that they've made a ranking of the 10 coolest things about it!
TOP 10 COOL THINGS ABOUT RAKUNAN HIGH SCHOOL:
⑩The school is located right where the famous Buddhist temple Touji is.
⑨The school has had the highest number of Kyoto Daigaku transfers for 17 years straight.
⑧The wind ensemble club has an insanely rigid structure for its meetings.
⑦The track-and-field coach is a former Olympic athelete!
⑥The have a Quiz Research Club!

...and this is where V6 has some fun XD
The quiz research club is, well, basically that. They love trivia and strive to be the best at knowing random stuff! It turns out that Miyake also loves trivia!
They're pretty good, though: they beat him at the first two questions.
Ken gets the third one though, and thinks he's the bomb:
Sakamoto quickly points out that he should just JOIN THE CLUB ALREADY, GOSH

On with the countdown!

⑤The volleyball team is amazing.
④They have a male chorus club!
③Their English teacher was the model for the teacher in Dragon-Zakura
②They have an awesome male gymnastic team.
And number one!
①They have the number one basketball shooter! wooo~!

Apparently this kid is an amazing shooter. So just for the heck of it, the ask Okada how many shoots he thinks the guy can make in a row. He guesses 17. He actually shoots...
33! Holy crap.
And 99% of those shots were nothing but net, literally. Amaaaazing!

And that's it for today! There were a couple more 60-second reports, including another love kokuhaku that wasn't nearly as interesting as the first. Oh well. XD

Gakkou e ikou! MAX 2007.05.01

Hey everyone!
Yesss we're nearly four days into May and I'm just now getting around to May 1st's episode XD I usually like to wait and get my episodes on Jpopsuki since it comes in one piece, but then I found out that Nermal's encode got lost, so... oops! ;P

Anyways let's get to it!
Everyone remember this amazing little girl from last week's preview?
They decide that they simply must go meet her. No question. XD

They meet up with her fashionable (?) sensei in a nearby park, where they learn more about her. Nagano politely inquires as to her age (hey, this is ok in Japan :p), to which she replies that, ohoho, she's just turned the ripe young age of 20.
Sakamoto: "20, of course~! I thought so~!" XD

Seriously, though, I think this lady is really a huge fangirl deep down or something XD She appears completely flustered and can't seem to get over their greatness. LOL.
But she's really amazing - she's taught electone* to over 1000 students!

*In Japanese, the keyboard that they're using is called an エレクトーン, or electone in English. It's basically a certain type of a synthesizer. I've never heard of an electone before.

They head off to the sensei's classroom, where some of her students, including Rei-chan (the girl in the video!), do a dance performance!

This little boy's (girl's?!) gown thing comes off after doing a march-like entrance - and OMG I've never seen Inocchi laugh so hard XDDD But it was seriously an A+ entrance.

Heck, it even leaves Leader ROFLing, literally XD

Then, after the dance they all rush up and thank V6.
Huh?! LOL should't it be the other way around, if anything?!
And then they start fighting over who gets to shake hands. D'awwwww *~*

Next, Rei-chan plays a special song for V6 that she's practiced alllll week for!

Their very own ♪ WA ni natte odorou!
SO.CUTE.

OMG see how it makes them smile?! きゃー XD
Rei-chan is seriously amazing, though. She has the song memorized, and doesn't even look at what she's playing, since she's too busy dancing along with it.

Once it's done:
Sensei: So, how would you like to try playing the electone~?
V6: . . . .

HAHA. But of course you know they're gonna do it XD
Sensei ask's Rei-chan what song they're going to play.
Rei-chan: "Choucho! (Butterfly)"
Sensei: "Rei-chan, how much do you like this song?"
Rei-chan: "I love this song sooo~ much♡" she squeals, wrapping her arms around herself.
Annnnd V6 PROCEEDS TO DIE FROM THE CUTENESS:

Sakamoto & Nagano: *melt*
OMG XD

Sensei stresses the importance of GROOVING along with the music. You don't just play it, you move it with it~! So, cue V6 swinging their heads side to side with giant goofy grins on their faces XD
Sakamoto: ... *raises hand*

Sakamoto: "Sensei, is this REALLY necessary?"
Nagano: "Yeah, you just wanted to make us do this, huh!"

Before you know it, it's SHOWTIME!
They practice for about an hour and then play the Butterfly song together, complete with giant smiles and head-swaying and clapping their hands over their heads.

Next up!
A crazy ritual from Mie-ken called Ageuma（上げ馬）.
Basically, it involves young horseback riders in samurai armor riding horses up a steep 3 meter cliff - just watching the video of it was scary x_x
This is dangerous stuff!
Sakamoto and Ken inspect the actual 3 meter cliff. Yeah, that's tall - and steep.
The thing is, there are only 6 young people who are chosen to do this each year. That's right - chosen. This is NOT something they do because they want to :O
There are EVEN boys who have never even ridden a horse before!
So Gakkou decides to follow the story of one of the young men, Keigo-kun.

The first time they meet him, though, he speeds right past them on a horse.
Leader: "Hi Keigo-ku....."

They finally meet up with Keigo-kun and his friend Masanori-kun, who explain more about the whole ritual. They have to go through rigorous training, and during that time they are not allowed to go out, put on a strict diet, and are not allowed to communicate with girls in any way. Not even their mothers!
Another part of their routine involves purifying their body in the nearby river everyday at 6 am and 6 pm SHARP. The temperature is 50 degree outside, making the water a mere 35 degrees x_x

And OF COURSE Miyake nominates Leader as the one to give it a try. (I thought it was going to be both of them, though, and was sorely disappointed XD)
But ahhh! Leader!! (omg his arms *o*)

He actually submerges his body entirely, and right as he's rushing to get out, Miyake gives him a hand. Aww, how nice, I thought...
ONLY TO PUSH HIM IN AGAIN ROFL
Gymnastics episode flashbacks, anyone?! XD

Long story short, the day of the Ageuma festival comes, and it's time for Keigo-kun and Masanori-kun to finally take the challenge, For Keigo-kun it's important because he is doing it for his father, who was unable to participate because of an injury when he was young.

And guess what?!
He makes it!!! :DDD

Which leaves this segment with a really happy ending ^^
Uwa~~ what a ritual!

Hey everyone! Back with another episode of GeI~! (err...)

Today we have another inspirational project. Yay~?
Or, for those who maybe don't understand much Japanese and would rather see the usual V6 falling down and making fools of themselves, boooo...? XD

But I'll explain what it's all about!

It's another day of sorting mail for V6...

....and next thing you know Sakamoto is sitting in front of a gaggle of high school girls! And one guy. Buuut we'll get to that later.

Okay, so these students are part of their school's orchestra band, and what's happening is their beloved conductor/teacher, Horino-sensei, is retiring! They really love their teacher and their last concert with him ever is coming up, so they want to do something special and want Gakkou's help! Apparently he's a really exceptional teacher - NEVER missed a day of school, and always did everything in his power for his students.

One of the girls- oh I mean guy- crawls up next to Sakamoto and grabs onto him while he shows him which one is their teacher. Leader... doesn't know what to do, LOL.
"Go back to your seat!" he says, but the student insists that he has to point out their teacher to Leader.

Cute XD

Soooo they start brainstorming ideas as a group for something special they can do during their last concert. One of the girls says that at the encore, Sakamoto should come out and "do something".
Leader: "While you guys are playing the encore, I could come out and... tap-dance!"
Group: . . . . .
Leader: "...what?"

They call his idea boring, and he gets all sulky. OMG CUTE XDDD
LOL.

And then!
Right when they're in the middle of talking, there's a knock at the door...!
The show's AD (assistant director) rushes in, announcing that apparently Horino-sensei has arrived at the school! :O
The project is supposed to be secret, so this is BAAAAD.

Everyone starts rushing around, Sakamoto's like "what? what? what? no way!", and the students rush him out of the room and onto the veranda XD
AHAHAHAH! Best moment evar! XD

And then.... moments later....
"False alarm!"
Sakamoto: ....
ome Leader looks so cute just sitting down there XD

Yes, apparently the (new) AD messed up, and it was a different teacher who came XD
LOLOL!
Well, that was fun! XD They quickly rearrange themselves and resume the meeting.
Nothing like a little scare to shake things up, eh?!

Anyways, they decide on a plan: during the encore, Sakamoto comes out onto the stage, and at the same time, a bunch of Horino-sensei's old students come out and start playing with them!
And then, they read a special letter they've written to him.
Sakamoto shares the big plan with Nagano. ♡♡

The performance day finally comes!
Yaaaay!

Sakamoto comes out during the encore, causing the crowd to scream and the teacher to go... huh?
He seems really surprised at all of the past students coming out to play. Yay!

Then, one of the current students start to read the letter for him, but has trouble getting through it because she's crying so hard... which in turn causes Horino-sensei to cry, too. Along with the rest of the club. Awww T-TAnd it all has a happy ending :]
Leader tells Horino-sensei how they had planned it all out, and he said that he was thinking that something was up all day! XD
I'm glad that Gakkou was able to help turn their last performance with their teacher into something special!

Next up! Another segment of the 60-second reports!
Gakkou has been putting out a call for 60-second reports done by students - they can be about anything at all, but they MUST be limited to 60 seconds. Let's see what they come up with!!

First up is another orchestra band! They introduce the sole male student in the band, who is like "an idol" to them XD The girl who does the report is really cute and does an excellent job!

Next report is a girl who shows off the nice view from the roof of her school - first how it looks during the day, and then at night.

This student introduces his "amazing teacher" - he walks into the classroom and she's up there dancing in front of the class to some crazy music, waving around a pink feather fan, LOL!
That's a pretty awesome teacher XD
....I wonder what she teaches?

The next report is on a kid who solves a Rubik cube in 12 seconds! :O
The funny thing about this report is that they run out of things to say at the 45-second mark. So the last 15 seconds is them is sitting there looking at the camera, with the cameraman whsipering "say something... anything! hurry, hurry... anything! quick!"
LOL! XD

The next video, though, has the exact opposite problem:
The report starts out as a girl interviewing her friend who is about to confess her feelings to her classmate. wooo! So we see her start walking towards the house... 5..4..3..2..1...
TIME UP.

LOL, they clearly didn't follow the directions. Mino Monta says that rules are rules and that they must be limited to 60 seconds, so they can't show the rest.
Buuuut of course you know he can't do that to them XD
So just this time, they get to watch the rest!

The girl confesses and everything (is this for real?!) but....
rejected T-T The guy likes someone else...
The girl liked this guy for like 5 years, so she was in shock. Awww poor girl!
I wouldn't have wanted to walk back and be filmed after that. >_<

I have been quite busy lately! But also to be honest....
that episode was boring XD
I honestly wouldn't have minded it if it wasn't just a rehash of one they did last year!

So I just decided to skip it this time around.

Heeeey everyone!

Like I said before, I'm back!! XD ただいま～！
And I'm just now getting around to a review of last week's Gakkou!
A 2-hour special on....
What School Was Like In The Past SPESHARU! yay~
(apparently Mino Monta's idea)

Yup, no real ロケ's to speak of (aside from
visiting where these old schools used to be, I guess),
just a lot of talking, but it was pretty interesting!
But - if you don't understand it - it'd probably just bore you to tears XD
So to those people out there, here's a talk summary!

So what they've done is chosen some famous people to interview about what their schooldays were like, and recreated some of it using actors to get the real effect XD

First up is former-talent-turned-governer, Hideo Higashikokubaru.
Damn, now I know why Leader asked if he could jut call him Higashi-san, LOL.

★He describes how they would be punished at school - there was the usual holding buckets of water out in the hallway (you've all seen this in some drama or anime right?!), and then there was THIS:
ROFL!!!
I could not stop laughing at that for some reason, ahahaha XD
★When his teacher asked him what he wanted to be when he grew up, he replied, "a French person!" Teacher's response? "If you try hard enough, you can do it!" LOL.
★He ran away from home with his friend to train under the current king of comedy at the time. Aaaand got busted for it. Life lesson learned, and all that jazz.

One thing he brings up, though, is that while seen as scary,
the teachers were respected.
Which prompts a Gakkou Survey to see what it's like today in comparison. Results?
*Are teachers respected less now compared to the past?
77% say YES, 18% say NO, and 5% say NEITHER.
77%? That's quite a big chunk! :|

Next up is the Gakkou MC, Mino Monta!
★Parents respected the teachers as well and never complained about what they did. (oh how times have changed..) As figures of authority they trusted them completely.
★Teachers/parents were open about things like wealth and social status. They didn't try and hide them, and put emphasis on helping those who had less.
★Teachers would openly announce everyone's grades in front of the whole class. Well, at least this one teacher that Mino Monta had. Wow XD
What school was to Mino Monta: A place you could fully blossom

Here, they bring up another Gakkou Survey question:
*Do you think student's parents intervene too much in the classroom?
(err, not literally, more like in education as a whole XD)
57% say YES, 33% say NO, and 10% did not respond.

It's hard to say exactly what they mean by 'intervene' here -
I think parents should definitely be involved, but I don't know what is considered "too much"....

Next up is talent/comedian Macchami! I love her, she's awesome! XD
If any of you watch Ainori, she's one of the MCs!
....Of course, if you DO watch Ainori, you'd already know that! LOL

★In her hometown, the neighborhood was like family. Everyone watched over each other. Unfortunately, though, this also meant that everyone was into everyone else's business, which is not so cool when, like in her case, she was a teenager with a crush XD Of course, these kinds of things spread like wildfire...!
★There were those kinds of students known as delinquents (不良), but they didn't really bully other people around like they are known to do now. Plus they went to school every day and actually participated in school things! In her case, some of them even tried running for class president just for the heck of it and actually won, LOL.
What school was to Machami: A place where she spent treasured times

Next! Is the best part of the episode! XD
They start talking about those delinquent students and how they dress, and announce that they have a mini Fashion Show! Delinquents Through The Ages!
dun dun dun dun~!
First up is 1950s juvenile delinquent style! Long, tattered coat and hat, and crazy-high platform shoes that you can't see well in the picture, but wow they're high XD

Next is.... あれ？！
OMG OUR NEXT DELINQUENT STUDENT IS LEADER ♡♡
In 1970s delinquent style (or... Kishidan style)! Omg flashbacks of that one show withDowntown where all 6 of them dressed like this XD
Leader shows off the extremely high waist on his pants. Sexay~

Nagano loves it and can't stop laughing heeeeeee ♡♡

Next up with 1980s style is Moritaaaa! ...Who looks bored and just kinda stands there and doesn't put any character into it like Leader XD Oh and some chick.
Last but definitely not least, current-day delinquent style!
....Except, I dunno about you but they don't necessarily
look like delinquents to me. LOL they look normal.
And OMG why didn't they have Ken do this one?! Would have been perfeeeeect dammit

Some more talking about school this time by comedian Youhichi Shimada.
★He had a nice little story about an episode with his baseball club: there was a member who couldn't go on the school field trip because his mother was in the hospital and they didn't have any money for him to go. The other members meet and come up with a plan to work part-time to raise some money for their friend to go. The only problem was that it was against school rules to hold a job, but they went through with it anyways - in secret. Once they had saved up enough, they gave the money to their friend, who accepted it. But, in the end, he didn't end up going. When the others confronted him about it, and he said that he didn't feel like going from the beginning. Then give back the money, they said. He said he couldn't - so obviously he had spent it. The members got furious and demanded to know on what - and that's when the kid pulled up all new baseball gear. He thought that the money should have gone towards the club, he said. Awww! Happy ending. The teachers even admitted they knew about the jobs, but were touched by their motive and excused them for breaking the rules.
What school was to Youhichi Shimada: A fun place to play that I wanted to go to
If only that were true for everyone XD

Next, the staff brings out a little display of food lunches throughout the ages!
Wow, they've really got all bases covered here XD
For example, here's an example of a 1940s school lunch!
On the plate is a little dish of powdered nonfat milk, which apparently tastes gross.

Sooooo OF COURSE Ken pushes Okada forward to try it, ROFL GO KEN xD

Okada's reaction: *sip* ...oh, gross!

Next is actress Kuroki Hitomi's school tales of love letters and diaries, but nothing too interesting here so it's time to wrap this up because I don't want it to get too long. heh.

They all say BYE BYE~!

I love how they all wave bye at the end. Especially Ken, he always waves like he means it. Ken ♡

Next week (as in yes, a week from now, I don't think there was any Gakkou THIS week!)

Gakkou e ikou! MAX 2007.03.20

It's time for a 2 HOUR SPECIAL! :D Download it here!
I've jammed a bunch of pictures in here, but I'll be relying
a lot on text to explain everything that goes on!

Today's theme is high school students on the stage of the world!
First up we have the winner of the model audition, Naoko-chan, a regular high school girl☆

When the audition ended, they had only SEVEN days
until the Paris Collection audition. Which means.... CRUNCH TIME.
Naoko gets model lessons from a famous Japanese model (Hideka) who has over
10 years experience appearing in the Paris Collection.

The first day of training, she practiced walking for three. hours. straight.
Hideka-san told her to put all strength on the inside of her legs. Until they HURT!
*crowd gasps*

At one point Hideka-san tells her to try and scream as loud as she can, from her stomach. Naoko tries, but can't let out more than a weak yell. Hideka-san thinks about this for a bit, and tells her flat out that:

"At this rate you'll never be in the Paris Collections!"
She basically makes Naoko cry with all of her harsh words, but also really wakes her up to the harsh reality that is the world of modeling.

The seven-day training comes to an end, and Okada introduces
them to the special something that every model needs to have.
THE BOOK!
Every model has what's called a BOOK, he says. Basically it's a portfolio
of their modeling pictures and brands they've modeled for.
"You don't have any professional pictures like this, right?" Nagano asks.
"Not even one" answers Naoko.
"I expected as such," says Okada.
"So I've set up a meeting with a super famous photographer!"
GO OKADA!

They head off to meet him - it turns out that
he's actually taken pictures of Okada before!
Photographer-man proudly shows off his Okada pictures ♡....while poor Okada sinks into the couch in embarrassment LOL XD

Photo-man: "Can't you just feel my love for Okada-kun through these pictures?"
LOL ♡

Okada gets put in charge of the wind machine, ROFL XD

Fast forward a day or two, and they're in PARIS, FRANCE! ♡Now, this is where I realized something - the Paris Collection is a
series of little shows put on by famous brands showing off
their latest fashions (I thought it was one big show!)
SO! The trio head off to view various Paris Collections to see what they're like!

At the Paris Collection show for the brand Chloe, they get a chance to go backstage and meet the company president! :O Stoked at this chance, Okada explains to him Naoko's situation and asks for any advice for her. He then stammers out his next request: "Please... give her... something!"
LOL Real smooth XD
Soooo the prez offers her this big-ass bag!
WOW GOOD GOING OKADA! :O LOL

But now its down to business!
Long story short, the Gakkou staff has a hard time trying to
find a brand that would let Naoko audition for the chance to
appear in their Parikore. As in, they couldn't find ANYONE.
However, a call came to them one time from a Japanese designer
named Yuki Torii, who offered to let Naoko audition!
So she went, auditioned (showed her Book, did the walk),
and waited for that special phone call.
When it came, however...

She didn't make it :(
And that was the end of the Parikore project.

...or so they thought!

It turns out that Yuki Torii graciously offered to let Naoko appear in the finale of the Parikore (where all of the models walk the runway one last time). She wouldn't be appearing all by herself, but she -would- be appearing! In an actual Paris Collection!

Which means, this segment has a happy ending :]
When you think about it, it's pretty amazing that a normal high schooler from Japan with NO modeling experience whatsoever had a chance to stand on the Paris Collection stage.
Such is the power of GAKKOU E IKOU! :D

Next up!
The segment that wraps up ballet student
Risa-chan's quest for the Lausanne scholarship!
She's off to participate in the Lausanne International Ballet Competition!
The Lausanne competetion is one that is limited to amateur dancers aged 15~18. This year there were only 66 chosen to compete - with Risa being one of them! woo!

And this time we have not a pair, but a trio there to cheer Risa-chan on! :DDDUnfortunately, they're only here to see her off, they're
not actually going to the competition with her :(
As Leader puts it: Even if we did go to Lausanne, we wouldn't be of any help.
Ken: When we go overseas, we just feel like eating good food and stuff... XD

They meet up with her and tell her they have a special surprise for her!
"Could you please put this on?" Nagano asks, handing her an INOCCHI mask LOL
And not just any Inocchi, but Inocchi all made up as a maiko from that one episode, ROFL!
And off they go! XD

She takes off the mask, and realize they've taken her to the high school she used to attend (she dropped out of high school to focus on ballet)
They tell her her present is waiting for her inside the gym. What could it be?!?!
Awww! It's all of her old friends and classmates there to cheer her on!
They sing her a song they've been practicing, and the
poor girl gets so choked up she can hardly speak :(Nagano: Why of course.... I watch cheerleading!
Sakamoto: But of course!
Nagano: What else!
Sakamoto: I know~!
Nagano: Why are you asking me such an obvious question?
Ken: .... *raises hand*
Ken: I have NO idea what you guys are talking about. So... wait why do you watch cheerleading?
Sakamoto & Nagano: .....I'm sorry, I don't understand your question.
ROFL!

With that, the bring out Gakkou e ikou's good friends, the Narita High School Cheerleeading squad! The one with the guy! XDD
If anyone remembers, they had this guy on a past episode, trying to get more
guys to join the cheerleading squad, since he was the only one XD
How awesome of him to make a cameo appearance!
They do their thing and cheer Risa on ^o^*/

And then Risa's off to Switzerland!

The Lausanne competition has three components:
Classical Ballet, Contemporary Ballet, and Improv.
Risa-chan does great at the classical and contemporary ballet (we don't get to see the improv because they didn't allow cameras inside). For the classical, she dances gracefully with a huge smile on her face the whole time :D

Not long after, the results are announced....
But alas, there was no circle around Risa-chan's number :(

But Risa stays strong, and doesn't cry, and says that most of all,
she's just happy that she made it this far. That's the spirit!

In the end, she DID end up getting scouted by two schools, which is awesome! :O
So perhaps we can consider this somewhat of a happy ending, too?!

And that wraps up our 2 hour special! Wow that was a long entry XD

What's up everyone! ^~^*
Get your GeI on here! (That doesn't sound right..)

Today we have another amazing school with amazingly talented students!
Inocchi and Sakamoto go on a little trip around the school visiting the various clubs.
By the way, this is the school that famous ping-pong champ Fukuhara Ai is from! :O

The first thing they see upon entering the school is the
ridiculously long line of 1st place ribbons!

Caption: Too much winning! (LOL)
Inocchi: Is this some kind of joke or something?!

First club they visit is badminton, where Inocchi decides he's going
to use a speed gun to calculate how fast they can hit the birdie!

OMG WTF 90 MILES AN HOUR!
screams Inocchi XDDD

Followed by a smack upside the head courtesy of Leader XD

Next they head outside, where Inocchi spots something very peculiar.
A speedwalker!

Omg, you have to see this guy walk. His feet are like... jello?!

Inocchi and Leader decide they just have to try.
....So here we have Inocchi attacking Sakamoto for looking stupid while trying XD
BUT INOCCHI IS NO DIFFERENT.

LOL at Inocchi's hip-swaying power walk XDDDD

Next up is the rhythmic gymnastics club, like the one we saw
a couple weeks ago, only this time its guys!

These guys are AWESOME.

After their performance, they talk about the importance of having every single one of them in sync, and demonstrates what happens when someone messes up:
Every time they mess up, they have to bang their head on the wooden floor as punishment @_@

Commence shock!
Leader: What the hell are you doing?!
Apparently it's a long-time tradition in the club :O

Next the club decides that they're going to have Inocchi and Sakamoto learn a move
and try and do it in sync with the rest of the team.
It's something like a handstand turned backflip - but it has to be in sync with everyone else.
.....OOPS.

Leader cries because he has failed!
(Is that not the cutest thing ever?!)

...And then he runs over to the nearest wooden floor for punishment ROFL

Amazingly enough, Inocchi does it PERFECTLY. GO INOCCHI! YEAH!

Last but not least is the ping pong club!
There's a bunch of chit chat here but I'll just get down to the best part of the whole thing.

I swear, someone needs to make a GIF of that or something XD

Inocchi and Sakamoto win against one of the girls (although all they
had to do was score one point to win, heh)

That concludes our Aoyama school adventures!

The next segment is the Paris Collection model segment, where they hold an
audition for girls aspiring to be models saying they *might* have a chance
to participate in the famour Paris Collection (パリコレ).

I'll be honest and say it's not that interesting. (Like someone pointed out, Okada
looks like he's about to fall asleep the whole time, and with good reason XD
Poor Okada, his first segment in months and its boring. LOL)
But I will show you the girl who made it!

1st-year high schooler Matsumoto Naoko.

Will she make it? The outcome - next week!

It's time for more laughing at our favorite V6 members falling all over the place :D

This time the lovely V6 mama-papa couple are visiting a school for SPEED SKATING!

This makes Nagano happy ♡

They are in 20 degree weather, and the cameraman is wearing a t-shirt.
The note informs us that this man does NOT feel cold. LOL.

They meet the coach, who tells them that they should
go get ready so that they can start skating.

Go get ready? We ARE ready! *strip*

So, after watching the skating students demonstrate their LIGHTNING SPEED
in a time trial, it's time for Sakamoto and Nagano.

Not like you can tell, but as you can probably guess, they are super slow XD
The students think its cute, though, LOL. かわいいー

Seeing this, the coach suggests they try some training first. Sounds good, right?

They just about DIE. LOL at Leader all sprawled out on the floor XD

One of the exercises they try is this neat little sliding board thingy,
which simulates actual skating. Here Nagano demonstrates how to do it right!

...Here Sakamoto demonstrates how to do it wrong.

Now they've done some training, its time to go out on the ice again!
They're doing better than before, but at one point Sakamoto crashes into Nagano, which results in the CUTEST HAND HOLDING MOMENT ♡

And then Nagano nearly runs Sakamoto over.

At the end of the day, they're timed again on the same time trial that
they did in the beginning, and they actually each shaved off a
good 10 seconds off both of their times! wow!

Look at Nagano all happy on the ground! XDDD

Next up is Nagano-Morita, who are off to visit a special school for....
LITTLE KIDS! XD

V6 interacting with kids = love♡♡

It's actually a special school for elementary school entrance exams (!?)
Did I hear that right?=/ Anyways! Let's just say... these kids are smart!

Morita decides to become a student for the day! And he's ALL BUSINESS.
"I don't want to lose to these kids!" XD

First off, they start by chatting to the kids, and Nagano asks them what they want to be when they grow up. "Designer"... "teacher".... and then...
"I wanna be MIYAKE KEN!"
LOL OMG SOOOOOOO CUTE *dies*
Yes, this little kid absolutely loves Ken and brings him up whenever possible XD

Then it's class time. First activity? "Remember the story"!
They listen to a long story and then answer questions about it to test their memory.

Go takes his sweet precious time on the first question,
only to discover that there is a time limit. Of 5 seconds.
*beeeep* Time up!
"NO WAY!"

So what does he do? He resorts to CHEATING ROFL

"Hey, don't look~!"

Go completely misses ALL of the questions. Every single one.
He can't even tell what the choices on the answer sheet are!
Go: "This flower is a hibiscus, no?!"
Kid: "It's a CAMELLIA!"
BURNED.

Afterwards, it's creative time yay~! They get to draw pictures using their imagination! Behold Go's masterpiece:

He explains: "It's a person with a sunburned butt". LOL

Kids' reaction? "I don't like it~"

This week's Gakkou is a Hana Yori Dango special!

As you maaaay recall, Gakkou e ikou put out a call awhile ago
for aspiring actresses (students only!) with the chance to be
in the wildly popular Hana Yori Dango 2!

And look how many letters they got!

But first, our lovely leader is here with Nagano to introduce the special.
Sakamoto is psyched (!?) to receive a RED CARD XD
Now, having not seen HYD, I'm no expert, but my research tells me that
in the show the red card is given to unsuspecting students to let them
know that they are the now the new target of hate of the infamous too-cool-for-school F4 group!

So.... why would Sakamoto be happy about this again? XD

Nagano politely tells him to knock it off and act his age,
he's the TOSHIOTOKO after all!
...Meaning, this year is his birth year in the Chinese zodiac XD
So yeah, uhh, he BETTER be setting a good example!

Sakamoto explains that the show producer and lead star Matsujun waded through the previously mentioned 2500 letters, narrowing it down to a mere 5!

He then explains that these 5 chosen ones will go head to head in an
HYD quiz to find out just who loves HYD the most out of them!
Whoever wins gets to be in the show!
...That's right, their apparent interest in acting skill
is a big fat zero, as long as they love the show XD

Here's the chosen 5 in an *awesome* HYD set :D

Matsujun refers to the girl on the right as the LUCKY GIRL -
to choose the 5th girl, Matsujun just stuck his hand in the
giant pile of mail and pulled out a random letter XD
And then!
QUIZ START!

The questions are apparently pretty easy, as ALL of the girls are
slamming down those buttons as soon as they're read. すげぇ XD

Fast forward to the LAST QUESTION!
"What does Makino say after Doumyouji says, 'You're in love me, aren't you?'"
Girl #1 slams the buzzer first, BUT!
She has to actually re-enact the scene with Matsujun as Domyouji XD

COMPLETE WITH HUG SQUEEZE!
*cue jealous fangirl screams*

Someone (I don't know who!) says that it was a better performance than Mao-chan's, LOL
Mao-chan: HEY!

In the end, the winner is LUCKY GIRL!

She gets a nice little 8-second part with one line as a waitress being the boys coffee.

...Which doesn't really have anything to do with acting at all, does it XD

So much for "calling all aspiring actresses!"
But still an awesome experience nonetheless, I bet!

I don't know, I think I'll have to start watching Hana Yori Dango after this!

This week, we have.... MORE gymnastics! Only this time it's Rhythmic Gymnastics!
Now, I'm not all that well versed in gymnastics, but let me say:
THIS IS REALLY AMAZING!!!!! :O

so that maybe you all can see it in action ;]

This week we have Sakamoto and Morita visiting the school.
Well-established fact: V6 + girl's school = screaming all around.
"Girl's schools are great!" XD

They greet the rhythmic gymnastics club!
Who pretty much resume their practice right after saying hello XD

The teacher than explains what exactly Rhythmic Gymnastics is!
A sport relying heavily on flexibility and beauty that is performed
set to music using 5 different items (pictured here)

First, the girls demonstrate what they do for stretches!
Commence girls twisting their bodies into freakishly abnormal positions!

Go asks this one girl: How old are you?
17, she says!
"17?! You shouldn't be doing these kinds of things!" XDD
EH?! lol.

Watching the amazing things that these girls can do, Go mentions
that their flexibility is, after all, the result of YEARS worthing of training.
So of course, the next thing he says?
"LET'S DO IT!"
LOL.

So of course, they try and do some stretches. Emphasis on try.

Leaderrrrrrr don't hurt yourself XD

The next girl does an *amazing* trick with the hoola hoop, which of course
a screenshot can't show. How amazing?
...so amazing that Leader suggests they try doing it at their next concert, LOL
Next the girls show off their group performance (must! watch!),
which gets V6 all fired up to try :D
OMG SO COOL XD

Here's another, uh, highlight (?) of their performance:
Yeah, Go pretty much rolled all the way over onto Sakamoto's leg. LOL. XDDD

And Go's dramatic ENDING POSE!
They pretty much rocked it, including the extra-hard trick of having
both of them jump through connected hoola-hoops at the same time.

Next up is a summary of the FANMAIL CORNER in full!
Only, it's not exactly fanmail. These are letters that come in to the show that request that V6 come visit them for whatever reason (we need your help&support with this/that/whatever!)

Here we have our boys sorting them into three piles:
Will Go Visit, Might Go Visit, Will Not Visit
First up is a letter from a 5th grader in Fukuoka!
Okada reads: "When my best friend Mei-chan was reading manga, my friend
made fun of her and said some pretty mean things. Mei-chan looked really sad,
so we want to apologize to her, but we also have a dream".

LOL what?! Ensue confusion, and Ken goes: "She totally changed the subject!"

Okada continues: "Our dream is to explore Tokyo and visit Tokyo Disneyland.
So, we'd like to apologize at Tokyo Disneyland".

Ken: "What the heck?!" XD Go: "Ahh, clever.."

Okada reads on: "Then, we were thinking, If someone from V6 were to come,
who would we want it to be? Firstly, we'd definitely want Morita-san to come.
After that we weren't sure who to choose between Inohara-san and Miyake-san, so....
Inohara-san, please come with us!"

REJECTED.
Morita: She should apologize on her own! *drops into the Will Not Visit box*

The next letter is from a mother who writes about her elementary school daughter!
Inohara reads: "I'm writing for the first time. I'm writing because I'd like you to read these poems written by my daughter who's in second grade. She wrote a lot of poems, saying she'd like to make her debut. I thought, Could my daughter be a genius? and sent you her poems for you to see. She wrote these without the guidance of me or any other adult."

The poems are apparently pretty impressive, considering an elementary student wrote them. However, there was one that caught Inocchi's eye...
♪ Bye bye, thank you, good bye~ my dear lover~ you were a good girl~ but still a sly woman♪
Ken: Where have I heard this before?!

Inocchi: Let's read it all together now!
*V6 starts singing*

"Well, it's possible that we might go and tell her" XD

I couldn't stop laughing at this one XD
We start off with a letter written to V6, which Go and Ken take upon themselves
to read (purposelly leaving out the other members XD)

SHHHH THEY'RE GONNA DITCH THE OTHERS

Don't they make the greatest combination?! Ken himself even says so XD

They're here to meet the junior high tennis team, who sent them the letter asking them to come play against them!

Junior high kids? Piece of cake, they say.
...Huh? Where's all this big talk coming from?

Especially since.....

.....THEY SUCK XDDDD

AND they don't even know the rules of tennis (!!)

...aaaand Staff calls them out on it XD
p.s. omg Ken looks about 12 there

So, they lose. BADLY. x_x

It was then... they heard a voice! Coming from...
the roof?!?!? XD INOCCHI!

...who starts to get all defensive about his, quote, precious little brothers (♥)
when he gets knocked over by the wind ROFL

sign: CAUTION STRONG WINDS
Long story short, Inocchi's brought a special guest - former pro-tennis player Shinobu Asagoe to join him in playing against two of the junior high girls! If anybody remembers Inocchi's Sharapova-stalking adventures in Miami, THIS is that same player he met while he was there! XDD

Highlight: Go and Ken press Inocchi about knowing how to play tennis, to which he says "Of course! I've been really into it lately!"....
...by which he means PLAYING WII TENNIS XDDD

Admittedly, Inocchi is a better player than the hopeless GoKen combo,
but... still...
Aw XD

They ended up losing to the junior high school girls.
It was pretty much all Inocchi's fault.
GoKen even concluded that when Asagoe-san made a mistep,
it was Inocchi's lack of skills rubbing off on her, ahahaha

In the end, Mr. Narrator advises Asagoe-san to ignore
any further contact from Inocchi.
LOL

Next segment! Yes, I'm actually covering a full episode this time XD
Wow, this gets long!

GAKKOU DE KIKOU! "Let's ask at school!"

As you can see, Sakamoto is completely PSYCHED at this new segment.

While Morita is completely LOW TENSION: ".....Well then!"

Basically, in this segment they visit a school and go around interviewing students! yay!
Today's theme was "Who is your favorite person?" They brought up a pretty good point about how student-teacher and friend relations have been wearing thin in Japan lately, and wanted to see what was up.

There were some good moments in here, but they're not much when you convert them into a screencap XD

I will leave you with this one gem.

This kid's favorite person is his beautiful math teacher.
He originally requested a kiss on the cheek (?!) and she instead offered to feed him.
Or so he thought....
HAHAHAH

It's that time of week again folks! :D

This week, Morita and Sakamoto have come to visit the SKI JUMP BOYS!
Morita looks STOKED!
It appears they said this about Sakamoto+ski jumping when interviewed by the staff....

"No way! Can't do it! It's impossible!"

Which means...
They're going to prove them wrong!
"Let's show them how great our leader is!"

Aaaand in comes their instructor for the day... not on skis, but on a SLED XD
Ogiwara Tsugiharu, who competed in the Nagano winter olympics!

Morita suggests that the ski-jumping kids ask him some questions -
he's a Olympic athelete after all! So, how DO you learn to jump far...?
"...In the end you've just got to pray!" XD
I'm sure that helps tons!

Next it's time for some "Image Training", or pre-jump training!
Got to get into the grooooove, y'know!

Which includes stuff like jumping off of a platform while being suspended
and having an instructor "catch" you.
Go's thoughts on this?
LOL
Now THAT face is a first XDDD

Next exercise is doing the jump while riding on a rolling... cart thingy.

Sakamoto's slow, wobbly riding style has Morita going "Is this rehab?!?",
which had me rolling on the floor XD

Sakamoto doesn't quite get off the ground though, and lands right in the instructor's arms ♥

Soon, it's time for the BIG JUMP!
....though it's only the small hill for beginners,
but it's still pretty intimidating =S

Super all-mighty Olympian Ogiwara-sensei demonstrates, only to...

FALL FLAT ON HIS FACE!? アレ!? LOLOLOL.

Way to freak them out even MORE.

BUT! Despite all the worrying and moping around, they both safely complete the jump, even if リーダー didn't quite end it on his feet..
Morita of course still has to make fun of how he "looks like an old man skiing". XD

The kids are still impressed though, and even refer to him as 神様！Like a god! XD
P.S. The second part of the episode is an AIR VOCAL segment, which I haven't watched yet! XD Whoops! Lets... AIRJOY! (?)

The episode is mostly comprised of speed boat racing (!), so that's what I'll be covering! The segment about the monkey show is pretty short, so I'll pass on it for now. I may go back to it in the future :]

Let's go to boat racing school! (I had no idea such a school existed)

こんな感じです！Boats in action!

Nagano is the one on assignment today (bright and early at 6:00 am!), and he goes to greet the students as the wake-up alarm goes off.
But as he peers in the fourth room...

あれ? Morita-san??

Nagano tries to confirm that this indeed Morita san, and gets completely brushed off XD

The student get up, make their futons, and immediately rush out and line up (it's still pitch black outside, people!) Morita and today's tag-along guest Ebisu-san join the ranks as Nagano looks on.

Morita decides he's too good for regular numbering.

Roll call and everything ends, and WTF?! It hasn't even been 15 MINUTES since they woke up at 6 am x_x Speaking of 15 minutes, this is also the amount of time they have to eat breakfast each morning. haaaa~?!?!?!

Fast forward a few hours, and......
Oh damn, they're already zipping across the water in boats. (with an instructor doing all the manuveuring)

BUT! Ebisu-san INSISTS that it'd be more fun to ride solo.
...he says, clutching onto Go's arm XD

And wouldn't you know it!
He gets yelled at for going too fast! LOL.

Here our friendly instructor suggest a timed boat race! But of course!

First up, Ebisu-san:
I don't know, you have to see this part in action to understand why Marina's laughing XD
He clocks in at 1 min 2 sec!

Followed by Nagano-kun!
Go: He's absolutely serious about it XD
He clocks in at a stunning 47 seconds!

And last, Moritaaaa:
Seeing his rather slow start, Ken claims that he has NO motivation whatsoever.
「やる気ねえじゃん！」

Not so fast...!
He shocks himself by actually WINNING THE DAMN THING! AHAHAH

I dunno, watching them race boats made me nervous! I was like Marina there in the upper left corner, with my hands over my mouth the whole time XD Even though I know nothing's going to happen, it's still.... isn't it dangerous?! What if something happened?!
They were still pretty damn good for never having done it before - I was impressed.
It was really interesting to see the life these race boat students live - I kept thinking that they must REALLY love it to put up with such is a strict lifestyle! damn!

This review only contains the first segment of the episode!
When looking at the two, I found that I had a lot more to say about the marching band than the dolphins. ;( For now this review only covers the marching band!

This week's Gakkou finds Sakamoto and Nagano in Aichi-ken, visiting a local high school's Marching Band club! I've never done marching band, but if a second chance, I'd join this club D: Talk about awesome!

Sakamoto and Nagano are now entering the building.
Nagano probably ever hardly yells, but he has to to get their attention. lol.

Now, the marching band... you just have to see in motion to get the full effect! I'm not an expert but this marching band looks different from what I'm used to seeing here in America? Different sound, different formation... am I right, or do I just not know anything? D:
Either way, very cool to watch!

Can I take this moment to say I love Nagano's jacket? On him?

V6 is impressed with what they see.
And so, OF COURSE, it is their turn to try!
Can I also take this moment to say I love the uniforms on them? :o

First up: tuba! They first practice blowing into the mouthpiece, and.... XD
We love you leader.

Now for the real thing!
But... it just doesn't happen.

Bad enough to make Sakamoto go "what the hell was that?!"

Next up is the trumpets, or Where Sakamoto Becomes Possessed!

He ends up blowing a pretty nice note though,
and is subsequently pleased with himself.

When it comes time for the scales, though... well...
the subtitles say it all XD

Nagano just has to rub it in and imitate. SO. CUTE.

Next is drums and omg the look on his face! XD
The staff even resorts to English for emphasis!
BAD.

If you remember, when Okada-kun performed with the taiko club, they had these same little beat thingeys so you could see how on-track they were. (god I love the Gakkou staff!)
Or... off-track...
He looks asleep!

Next is the twirling flag challenge! Sakamoto tries tossing it and flips out as if someone threw a bug in his face. Nagano is there to call him out on it!

Of course no club visit is complete without V6 actually performing something in front of someone, so it's now HONBAN TIME!

じゃじゃーん！
Sakamoto takes stage, doing a nice little number with the fan.
Cue Ken from the studio: "ムカつく！ムカつく！すっげームカつく！" LOL

PERFECT! GO NAGANO-!

Pre-MAX Days

I really appreciate it! I plan on keeping this well updated, so keep checking back!

The new episode is not coming for another few days or so, so here I'd just like to talk some about the show...! 初non-review entry!

**Background: For those who might be somewhat new to the show, the original Gakkou e ikou ran from October 1997 to March 2005 (I refer to this as pre-MAX). In April 2005, the show became Gakkou e ikou MAX and overwent a huge rehaul to focus almost exclusively on students.

Watching some old Gakkou e ikou episodes the other day led me to think about how much the show was changed over the 10 years since it's begun. Wow, 10 years. If you think about it, it's pretty amazing! In a world where most idols and their activities are short-lived, it's pretty amazing to think that what is essentially an idol-show is still going strong.

It's undeniable that the show has changed so much from it's early days - especially since the show completely switched format and became Gakkou e ikou MAX in April of 2005. I think it's funny how a show called Gakkou e ikou (Let's go to school!) of all things only really became focused on school/ students after MAX. Pre-MAX did have it's school related segments (Miseinen no shuchou is perhaps the best example, and is also one of the most popular segments), but for the most part, the segments were your standard, wacky variety-show fare, revolving mostly around comedy skits, segments with audience/regular people participation, and games, with slapstick abound. The point of it all? Well, there really wasn't one. How seriously could you take members of a boy band walking around the streets of Tokyo smacking people over the head with toys and cutting off the heels of their platforms?! And, wait... this is the same show with B-RAP High School? That's right, pre-MAX segments were completely random - as in, they're completely different from each other and about the only thing you'll find in common with them is the
members of V6. That there was no point or connection to the segments didn't matter - it was about being funny, drawing laughs, and entertaining the viewer in an anything-goes kind of way - and that was where it really succeeded. You didn't need to be a fan of V6 to get into it - the pure hilarity of it was enough to draw you in and get you to go, who ARE these guys?!

I still say this episode shoulda been a 2 hour special, what with it being nearly a month since the last episode and all. >/

2007 starts off with Sakamoto and Miyake visiting the gymnastics club of Seifuu Gakuen in Osaka. Sakamoto's reaction upon entering the practice area...

Like it's a theme park or something XD

Annnnd yappari, everyone is pretty amazing there D: They start showing off their muscles (I was half-hoping V6 were gonna do the same thing and compare), and Miyake calls forth one kid...

And then tells him that he didn't say to take off his shirt or anything XDDD Then it's everyone's favorite: CHOUSEN TIME!

Sakamoto tries the rings, with Miyake there for support ♡ (...cheating?)
He ends up doing it for 30 seconds more or less, uwaaa.

Next is あん馬。(No idea what this is in English...) I love how they MUST point out Sakamoto's age. Poor leader! It's only going to get worse with time XD

LOL.

Well, hey. Even the experienced guy fell... in an even more embarassing way! Next chousen is the iron bars.... which you just have to see. Trust me. XD

Favorite exchange: Sakamoto: これ俺はやんなくていい？ Staff: お願いします。 Sakamoto: あ、やるんだ.. LOL.

Soon our gymnastic adventure ends, with Miyake and Sakamoto standing next to the foam pit bowing and thanking them all... and Miyake sneakily pushing Sakamoto into the pit, only to be dragged down with him.
LOL nice try XD

Next! Nagano and Morita visit kids who do お菓子作り！！

They dig in to the cutest creation EVER. Nagano asks how the girl came up with her idea, and she says she got it from a book. Cue Morita:

HAHA. It doesn't stop there. The kids introduce their delicious desserts, V6 get to
try 'em, they say mmmthanksbye, staff says wait a minute, せっかくだから why don't you make something together~? Sure, that sounds great! Right? Right, Go?
DUDE, Go.... XD;;;

But apparently, he's on a roll...
(talking about the kid's statue made out of sweets) XD

The result?
Weeee! It's time to finally eat them and Morita starts out with the decorations, of all things, which gets him a slap from Nagano. Nagano is apparently in a hurry to get going and get out of there (?), since he tries to wrap up the segment (unsuccessfully) about 3 times XDDD Morita finally just has to ask..

Hey everyooooone :D

I hope to start this blog in 3 days with the airing of the first Gakkou e ikou of the new year! \:D/

Hopefully I'll be able to keep up this schedule (it also depends when Gakkou shows up on trackers, when I have time, that kind of thing), but if anyone else is interested in helping me keep up this blog, let me know!

I'm convinced that Gakkou e Ikou is THE funniest show on Japanese television (and not just for V6 fans!) and simply want to share the joy that is this show with others :)

I get a lot of questions about how to watch Gakkou e ikou outside of Japan.
The answer is, of course, by downloading! ^^v

Here I'll introduce the different ways to download Gakkou e ikou episodes:

1. JPOPSUKI Tracker
We're very lucky to have awesome people who record
and upload Gakkou e ikou! for us on a regular basis to this site.
The Jpopsuki tracker contains files that must be downloaded through a
program called BitTorrent. I personally recommend using the program
uTorrent for all of your BT needs. Once you've downloaded this program,
you need to go to Jpopsuki, make an account, and then just click on the name of
whatever file you want to download. It will be added to your queue in uTorrent
and that's it! Please check the Jpopsuki FAQ if you have any questions!

2. Livejournal Communities
If you can't use BT, there is a great alternative on Livejournal.
The members at the Miyake Ken community often post direct downloads of current
Gakkou e ikou episodes. (usually whether they feature Miyake or not, heh)
At v6_unlimited you can find downloads of new and old Gakkou eps.
This is a great option for those who, for whatever reason, can't use BT.
If you don't have an LJ, make one! It's free and easy :D

3. WindJP (back up and running!)
WindJP is an awesome site that offers clubbox links to many
Japanese shows including Gakkou e ikou. Find it here.
Please note that this site uses a Korean filesharing program
called clubbox, which you will need to download but is free.
I recommend this great clubbox tutorial for beginners.
The good thing about WindJP is that it points you directly to
the download page for each file - you don't need to navigate
through the clubbox yourself to try and find something.
